Meh...it isn't that good, I expected something way better from you, like your most recent tracks.

I'm not that fan nor expert in Trance or any dancefloor genre, but I point out what I don't like tho:

1 - The kick is too loud, WAY too loud. It goes over the piano and all the synth it this track; a better mastering is needed;

2 - The piano is so repetitive. I'm not sure if it's a partcular thing of Trance, but I has the same notes all the time. Need more variations in it, considering that the whole track is based on it.

3 - The SAWs need a reverb. You know, to make i as much dancefloor as possible;

That's all hope you'll remake this track sometime during this year, It has a great potencial.

Thanks for the review!

I gotta say that this song was made in my old notebook (Only 1GB Ram and no capability to use heavier synths). Also, I was 14 years old back then, I didn't know what I was doing at all, just playing with 3xOsc and some of the most basic FL tools. That's why this song is important to me, it brings me back to when I was learning how to make music.

Ofc it has huge flaws. The piano loop is what gives it the title, the duality of it being the beat and the melody, that's why it is UNREAL, that's the only thing I can tell you that, if I make a remake, won't change at all.

And hey, I'm glad you like my most recent work, it makes me see that I improved a lot from back then :D

A bunch of VDUB loops put together and not mixed at all. It doesn't worth a single star.

Cochu responds:

Oh, thanks for banning me. Whatever, I only used ONE loop.

I agree with @Holkan.
This isn't even music, this is...messing around with sounds.
Learn how to make your stuff before posting your work somewhere, seriously.

If you review something take the time to listen to the track from start to finish. What you have to say is completely useless and judgmental. What can I take away from what you've said other than that you are an asshole who didn't even take the time to listen to the whole track.

Meh...not that much to say, it's a common trance track, the mixing is good tho. Preferred to hear the piano part at the beginning, and that 8bit styled sound could have been made better, and also you could use some plugins to apply some reverb to it.

Pi0run-V responds:

Well, probably I will upload extended version soon, so I can try to make it.
Thanks for your review.

This is indeed big room house. Just a few thing:

- The kick punches too much, it should be more soft;

- The melody is a bit repetitive, you should fiz some parts in it;

- the second drop could have been different from the first one, it sounds way too similar, it could have been more slower also maybe with some trap style hats.

You're improving tho. Keep it up!

Falsesouth responds:

Well, at least something. Okay, I guess the kicks could have been lighter. And I was too busy to really innovate for the other half.. But thanks again!!!!

Fine. Here's something without that white noise, and I enjoyed it! Now just fix the mastering and you'll get better.

.:FRICTIONAL:.

Holkan responds:

Yes, I definitely preferred making this sound than making the previous. Indeed I should fix that mastering
"-_-

I can definitely say that I enjoyed everything in this track.

- The melody is perfect, but you lacked on mixing.

- Expecially from 0:45 to 1:30 the chords are way louder that the...what's his name...xilophone? I guess?
Fix the mastering and keep up the good job!

Jumper responds:

Yeah, the mixing was not the best on this one but i have another version that's gonna come out on youtube. I guess i should change this version since i pretty much fixed everything you mentioned. xD

I really appreciate your honnest comment, man. Thank you! :)

(should be fixed now :P)

Meh...too much white noise, but the structure is good though. The vocals are insane btw, you did a good job on them, definitely. In the future, just try to avoid to use white noise or any sort of noise.

Holkan responds:

White noise is very useful in Deathstep. Anyway, I'll try to make something without white noise.

Very enjoyed to listen to this track! Actually, this is one of the few songs that actually impressed me here on NG. The only thing that I actually disliked is the lack of orchstral "drums", they could fit pretty well in this composition. Also, why is this so short? Like 1:33 is not that much for a composition of this level. Also the ending is very short and a bit lack of a proper outro. It seems that you just lost any possible idea to end this track.

Anyway, as I said, I very enjoyed listening to this. Keep up the good work! :)

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

We're glad that you enjoyed the listen :)

Really? I find that a lot of tracks on Newgrounds tend to be of rather good quality. I'd say we didn't really use too much orchestral percussion, because we wanted the track to have a very light feel, in general. That, and the light percussion we use here fits pretty well already! We do have the roll at 1:10, though :p

As for the lenght, you'd probably want to look at it within the context of the track's usefulness. It's supposed to have that "home town" feel. As a standalone track, it might be a bit short. But many tracks like this that are actually used in games tend to be of the shorter kind, and loop too. Often, it can be because tracks take some place, and the file size has to be below a certain limit. I guess that aside from that, composers that make full scores tend to have so many tracks to compose that the avarage length of every track is a bit shorter. But another reason is that we simply feeled that we were finished when we got this far XD

As for the lack of the proper outro, it is because the lack of it makes the loop sound better. But maybe you were listening on your phone? :D

Thank you!

Indeed a great work. The only this I dislike is that:

1 - It's a loop;

2 - The FX are quite useless in a cinematic/orichstral/miscellaneous track, considering that those kinds of music should be made with more orchstral stuff instead of using FX;

3 - It's very repetitive, but enjoyable;

Keep up the good work!

Lalalo14 responds:

Yeah I know it's very repetitive, most of my stuff seems to turn out that way :)
Thanks for the review!
